The IYSA Expo, the Midwest’s largest soccer expo, was on March 10th at the Schaumburg Sports Center. The Schwaben/Hansa booth had more than 300 visitors and entrants to our raffle of a free week of summer camp giveaway. There was great interest in the club tryouts for the 2012/2013 seasons.
Marc-Patrick Meister, head of the youth programs for Hamburg SV of the German Bundesliga, stopped by to chat with Thomas and catch up. Marc and Thomas met while getting their UEFA A License in 2005 in Cologne. They have kept in touch over the years and exchanged their thoughts about German and American youth soccer and look forward to working with each other’s clubs in the future.
The Schwaben/Hansa booth was next to our friends at Chicago Soccer that had a steady stream of people interested in shoes, jerseys and other gear offered.
There was also a full day of field demonstrations led by some of top National and International coaches to show new training techniques for both coaches and players of all levels.
